CWA President Larry Cohen appeared on The Ed Show last night to talk about what happens next for the broad coalition of progressive activists who campaigned for real Senate rules reform.
“Two million of us, way beyond labor, the 2 million of us who have worked on this, have to keep working,” said Cohen told host Ed Schultz. “We have to connect it to every issue of the day. What's going to happen now to social security and other budget issues? What's going to happen to immigration reform? They get away with this because they don't connect the dots. They make this a separate issue that puts people to sleep.”
He added, “So we don't give up. We have to keep standing up and fighting back. Apparently, Senator Reid said if the Senate is not functioning we will go back to this. Well, let's see. It won't be more than a few days till we see how the Senate functions for the majority on these critical issues of the day.”
