The Union Contract: The CWA Advantage for Cingular Workers

CWA and AT&T Mobility (formerly Cingular) have a neutrality agreement which makes it easier for employees (including employees from the old AT&T Wireless) to join a union. Under this agreement, employees sign a union authorization card that states support for getting union representation in CWA.

If a majority of the workers sign the cards, they get union representation.

AT&T, unlike most corporations, respect its employees’ right to form a union and to bargain over the conditions of their employment. It agrees to remain neutral when employees seek union representation.

Since the first AT&T Mobility employees got CWA representation in 1999, CWA and the company have maintained a positive relationship of mutual respect. CWA recognizes that AT&T's success means job security for our members. AT&T Mobility management and CWA do not always agree on everything, but both are committed to resolving differences within a framework of mutual respect.

Contact CWA for information on getting a union.
