Our national programs are focused on supporting sustainable jobs and a secure retirement for our members; making it easier for workers to take collective action, join together in unions, and negotiate fair contracts; and ensuring that working people's voices are heard in our democracy.

Legislation and Politics

CWA's legislative and political program supports national priorities like expanding collective bargaining and organizing rights, reducing the use of low-wage and offshore contractors, investing in infrastructure, and holding corporations accountable. We train members and retirees to advocate for these issues at the federal, state and local level. Through our Political Action Fund, we help elect candidates who will fight for working people. CWA is committed to fighting for policies and laws that promote investment in good quality, union jobs. We advocate for accessible, affordable health care for all and work with members to help them negotiate the best possible retirement programs. Read More.
