The Foundation was lucky to welcome back one of our Foundation Ambassadors, Ben Banks, for a discussion of the issues of transitioning from pediatric HIV care to adult care. During a childhood battle with a cancer that attacked his lungs and kidneys, he contracted HIV from a blood transfusion. Ben has also spoken at one of our CWA Conventions and received a rousing show of support from attending delegates.

CWA locals contributed more than $253,000 to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation in 2011, CWA Secretary-Treasurer Annie Hill reported. The PAF has been CWA's Charity of Choice for more than 20 years, and since that time, CWA locals have contributed nearly $7 million.

In the last 19 years, CWA members have been extremely generous and raised more than $7 million on behalf of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, CWA’s Charity of Choice. This money has been used to advance the Foundation’s research, training and advocacy programs around the world.
