Members focused on multiple contract battles this week as they joined other CWA members, the 99% Spring, Labor Coalition and communities at actions against Verigreedy Verizon in addition to our own employer at&t.

THE STRIKE VOTE HAS BEEN COUNTED. AN AVERAGE OF 93.5% ACROSS ALL FOUR CONTRACTS VOTED IN FAVOR OF GIVING THE CWA EXECUTIVE BOARD AUTHORIZATION TO CALL A STRIKE AGAINST AT&T.

This is the week the strike vote is due from your Locals. IF you want to give your bargaining team the power to resist the Company’s outrageous demands and have a good shot at maintaining good benefits and working conditions, make sure you give them a strong YES vote and keep building your mobilization activities.

The Company continued with crazy proposals across the table, including a new dress code policy. Many Members responded by returning Company branded clothing to supervisors or hanging it on clothes lines outside the central offices, garages, and Union Halls.

Local 13550 has responded to management’s harassment through their constant use of biased evaluations in a calculated attempt to belittle and single out members for ridicule. President Mary Lou Schaffer and Local 13550 have decided to turn the tables and is using managements own tactics to be heard in their struggle for dignity in the workplace. The Local created their own surveys evaluating management and had their members fill them out. See their survey and learn how to make one.
