Telecom News: 218 AT&T Mobility Sales Reps Organize in South Carolina
August 1, 2008
Seven locals in South Carolina worked together to organize AT&T Mobility's 218 retail sales representatives across the state during June, according to District 3 Vice President Noah Savant. Major concerns for the sales reps are the cost of health care benefits and job security.
Under CWA's majority signup agreement with AT&T, a majority of workers must sign cards within 60 days to win recognition, but the locals accomplished the task in just 45.
While this is the first group of A&T Mobility workers to organize in South Carolina, District 3 has helped 500 additional AT&T Mobility workers gain bargaining rights this year in Alabama and Kentucky.
