Jackson, Mississippi city employees gained collective bargaining rights when the City Council voted unanimously on June 21 to give the workers the right to bargain. Earlier, a majority of the nearly 3,000 employees voted to organize with MASE-CWA Local 3570. The workers' campaign took over a year. The workers never gave up hope.
