Question: I've become editor of our local's newsletter, but people aren't sending in stories. What can I do to get people to provide me with stories?
Answer: Like the case at most locals, it's the newsletter editor's job to collect and write most, if not all, of the content, including getting artwork and photos. Here's a tip to make your job easier: Set up a regular "editorial board" meeting that includes key local officers, stewards, etc. This will be great help in finding out what needs to be covered. Perhaps you'll be able to persuade a local officer to submit articles regularly. But remember, as editor, it's your responsibility to make sure the news gets out on a regular basis.
