A Wisconsin judge issued a temporary restraining order Friday blocking the state's new law that eliminates public worker bargaining.
Dane County District Judge Maryann Sumi granted the order in response to a lawsuit that alleged that Republican lawmakers violated the state's open meetings law in the way a special session was convened to pass the bill.
Republicans split out the provisions on collective bargaining rights and voted in near secrecy in the Wisconsin Capitol, with no Democrats present.
