Conscientious Employee Protection Act - New Jersey

December 24, 2007

To:       All Alcatel-Lucent Employees in New Jersey

Re:      Conscientious Employee Protection Act

In 1986, the State of New Jersey enacted the Conscientious Employee Protection Act (“CEPA”) to protect the rights of employees who disclose, object to, or refuse to participate in certain actions that the employees reasonably believe is illegal or a violation of public policy.

In accordance with CEPA, we are providing you with an important notice about CEPA, which is accessible in the attached document. If you have employees in your group who do not have access to e-mail, please hand deliver copies of the notice to them.

We would like to remind everyone that Alcatel-Lucent has a strict non-retaliation policy that protects anyone who, in good faith, reports what he or she believes to be a violation of law or company policy.  We encourage you to call the Alcatel-Lucent Compliance Hotline to raise any compliance concerns, or to report any violations or suspected violations of law or company policy.   The toll free number is 1-888-267-7732; outside the U.S. the number to call is 908-582-0183.  The TTY number for hearing-impaired persons is 1-503-249-0343.
