CWA Reports Substantial Progress in Verizon Bargaining, Talks Continue Tonight
Washington, D.C. – The Communications Workers of America issued this update on talks between the unions and Verizon Communications:
The bargaining subcommittees have been working diligently throughout the day to resolve local issues. Meanwhile, we are making significant progress in bargaining, although a few outstanding issues remain to be resolved.
The parties are scheduled to meet again at 10:30 p.m., tonight, under the auspices of the director of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, Peter Hurtgen.
CWA and IBEW members were on the job today and will remain on the job until further notice while talks are underway.
