Attached is a copy of a leaflet distributed at the Bell Labs building in Murray Hill in the wake of layoffs there. While they continue to reduce our numbers, through "voluntary" offers and layoffs, the management ranks stay virtually untouched. We felt it was time to expose that to the hundreds of "tenants" (company executives, researchers and scientists) who occupy the building.

According to Local 1060 President Doug Brown: "It went very well, as we got around 25 volunteers to man the entry doors and distribute the letter. We had very few refuse to take a copy, I think 3 out of almost 600 copies. There are many pissed off people here. Many read the letter and came back outside to speak with us."

Even though the numbers of layoffs were small we need to let the Company know that every member counts.
