A recent report by the consulting firm Milliman has found projected health care costs for a family of four to be over $19,000, a new record high. This is more than double the amount that families were charged in 2002, only 9 years ago.
What’s worse, over half of the increase has been picked up by employees in the form of premium payments and out of pocket costs. This means that the employee share of costs has more than doubled since 2002 from $3,600 to $8,000.
