Latest Cingular Gains Top 3,000

CWA has organized more than 3,000 workers at Cingular Wireless since mid-December 2001, with the latest victories coming through coordinated campaigns in
Districts 3 and 6.

The American Arbitration Association certified a card check victory for 404 Cingular workers in Fayetteville, N.C., District 3 Vice President Jimmy Smith reported on March 19.The win closely follows another Cingular victory for District 3 - 425 workers in Ocean Springs, Miss., on Jan. 30.

On March 1, Danny Fetonte, administrative assistant to District 6 Vice President Andy Milburn, reported the AAA certified representation rights for 186 Cingular workers in Oklahoma City, Okla., what he called "the last major Cingular market in District 6 to be organized."

All of these campaigns were conducted under CWA's card check and neutrality agreement with SBC Corp, extending to the company's subsidiaries.
