Rally at AT&T Headquarters in Dallas - August 6, 2013

The word from CWA Local 6215 is that they had a GREAT rally.  Over one hundred people surrounded the streets of Downtown Dallas at AT&T Headquarters.

District 6 VP Claude Cummings spoke to the group, stressing the importance of fairness. “We advised the group, (Dallas Police Department Criminal Intelligence Unit, the crowd and AT&T Asset Protection) we would be having a rally every 30 days until a contract is reached!” Check out our album for more photos of the rally. They also had a truck with a large billboard that circled the neighborhood with the message “Invest in your employees, not just football stadiums.” (See the photo below).

Their press release said:

"AT&T Internet Services employees represented by CWA across the country think it’s great that AT&T is a profitable company that can afford to support sports teams, neighborhood programs, educational grants and more.  Those same CWA members wish they would spend some of those earnings, which THEY helped create, to improve the lives of its own lowest paid workers.  Internet Services has been working without a contract since July 14.  The CWA Internet Services bargaining team is working hard to push AT&T to do the right thing."

CWA members are letting AT&T management know LOUD and CLEAR what they think of their priorities.  CWA represented employees want them to know AT&T can’t really be a “community-minded company” if they don’t treat their own workers right.

“We want to see our hard work reflected in our pay.” That’s the perfect message. WE are fighting for fairness. WE care about the customers. AT&T needs to step up and do the right thing.

AT&T has tens of millions of dollars to put its name on Cowboys Stadium but only has pennies for its own Internet Services workers!
