The Company has sent us the attached notice that began mailing last week to formerly represented retirees in regard to the Early Retiree Reinsurance Program.
The Early Retiree Reinsurance Program is a Federal program that was established under the Healthcare Reform Law passed in March 2010. Under the program, the Federal government reimburses a plan sponsor, such as Alcatel-Lucent, for some of the costs associated with healthcare benefits paid on behalf of, or by, "early retirees" and certain family members of such early retirees who participate in the Plan.
