Some good news. Alcatel-Lucent hires new installers.

After years of no hiring and the loss of almost 400 installers in a Special Pension buy-out in 2009, the tide seems to be turning. Due to some fierce competition for upgraded wireless networks, we have finally started to get some new hiring in Alcatel-Lucent. Almost 200 CSIs were hired last year. Another 200 will be hired the first quarter of 2011. 10 CSIs were promoted last year as the result of an agreement with the CWA, and more were hired into our RITC center in Ohio. We have just been informed that an additional 67 CSI will be promoted to regular installers in 14 different states in the next few weeks. This is the first time in a long time that we have seen significant growth in employment in our Installation group.
