Winners Set for College with Union Scholarships

High school graduates have barely cast aside their caps and gowns, yet for many the onset of college and accompanying expense is just weeks away. The following students can breathe a sigh of relief, however, knowing that at least part of the costs of their education will be paid by CWA’s Joseph Anthony Beirne Memorial Foundation, CWA’s Ray Hackney Scholarship Program, or Union Plus Credit Card scholarships.

Beirne Foundation
CWA’s Joseph Anthony Beirne Foundation traditionally awards 30 two-year scholarships to members or family, based on merit. This year, the board awarded 70 additional scholarships, made possible with funds from the AFL-CIO Union Privilege Program’s agreement with Household Finance on its MasterCard Program. The scholarships, honoring CWA’s founding president, are valued at $3,000 a year unless otherwise noted. The winners:
