117 NJ Performing Arts Center Ushers Vote CWA

117 ushers and assistant head ushers at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, N.J. won representation with CWA Local 1037 on Nov. 8 through card check recognition. The workers have already elected a bargaining committee and are preparing to begin negotiations immediately. They began their drive after connecting with CWA members who work part-time at the center. Organizers Mark Lender and Anne Luck assisted the workers along with support from Heidi Thomas, Nicole Daywalt, Diego Ponce, and Hetty Rosenstein.
