CWA's 25th Annual Local Union Newsletter Awards Competition
The deadline for entries is May 30, 2008.
Please note an important change this year: We need you to submit three copies of each entry. For General Excellence, please submit three original copies. Photocopies are permissible in the individual categories, though we urge you to submit originals for Best Photo.
Also note that this year there is a Best Front Page category. This replaces the Best Layout category.
As usual, a panel of distinguished journalists from outside the union will conduct the judging. Award plaques and certificates will be presented at this summer's CWA Convention.
The winner of the special Oscar Jager Journalism Award for news reporting will be selected by the judges in the course of reviewing General Excellence submissions. The late Oscar Jager was a noted journalist who served as the first editor of the CWA News. The "Oscar" will be awarded to the editor who has gone the extra mile (typical of its namesake) to dig out the facts on an issue of importance to CWA members.
