It’s the most fundamental American right there is—the right to vote.

But American Airlines has refused to recognize that right.

After the National Mediation Board decided to move forward on the union representation election for nearly 10,000 agents at American Airlines, American sought, and won, a temporary injunction to stop the election.

Clearly the airline is afraid of workers having their democratic vote and has been fighting hard to stop it. They have repeatedly refused to turn over the list of agents, violating a direct order from the National Mediation Board. The latest outrage was a lawsuit filed by the company on May 2, in which American Airlines is seeking to substitute its own judgment for that of Congress, so it can stop passenger service agents from having a union voice.

Agents who are being forced to make life-changing decisions right now about their jobs will be harmed by this vote not going forward, not American Airlines, which filed for bankruptcy with $4 billion in the bank, in large part to throw out its collective bargaining agreements with union workers and gut the jobs, benefits and working conditions for the passenger service group.

We will be keepoing a close eye on the lawsuit. Please provide your information below to join our Rapid Response team to support these agents in their fight for a fair vote.
