ABC Negotiations Begin

Negotiations began on February 22, 2011 for the successor contract with Disney/ABC. The current contract is set to expire on March 31, 2011. NABET-CWA representatives are meeting with ABC management in Los Angeles, CA through Friday, March 4th. Negotiations will then move to New York City during the last two-weeks of March.

NABET-CWA and ABC, Inc. negotiators resumed talks today at 11:30 A.M. Pacific Time. At today's bargaining session, the Company presented an overview of the state of its business and the television industry. After the presentation, ABC representatives explained their initial bargaining proposals, which, in the opinion of the negotiating committee, would destroy jobs for staff and daily hires through attacks on jurisdiction.
