Friday October 19th the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) certified the results of the election. 11 employees in the Engineering/Master Control/Production group voted for the Union, with 2 employees voting no. The Clerical group consisting of 6 employees voted for NABET with 4 yes and 2 voting no. All 19 workers are now part of NABET-CWA Local 51.

Voting has just opened for workshops at the National Conference for Media Reform. – the NCMR is held every couple of years so this is a big deal. The next one is in Denver, CO April 5-7, 2013.

These meetings were conducted under the auspices of Commissioner Timothy Germany, from the United States Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service.

NABET-CWA and ABC/Disney negotiators were scheduled to meet again today in San Francisco, CA. As we reported in Bulletin 32, this round of talks adjourned prematurely yesterday when twenty minutes into the session the Company suggested a halt in the process, until such time as the parties and the FMCS could agree to future dates for meetings on the east coast.
