CWA Reaches Tentative Agreement with Sprint in Pennsylvania

Tentative Agreement Reached - Sprint/United Telephone of Pennsylvania
1. Standby pay is increased from 125.00 to 150.00 per week.
2. Wages are 2.5% first year, and years 2 and 3 wages are increased 1.25% semi-annually. A signing bonus of $750.00 upon ratification.
3. Retained the DSL work in the bargaining unit
4. Double time for call out work on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas and New Year's Day.
5. The Company proposed Sunday tour at straight time however we agreed to 1 ½ on Sunday.
6. Company will continue to pay for Long Term Disability (LTD).
7. The 401K will be 50% match for the first year and guaranteed match at 25% for the remaining 2nd and 3rd years.
8. Basic contribution to 401k increased from 5% to 6%. Supplemental contributions are increased from 10% to 12%.
9. Short Term Disability (STD) changes are a reduction in the number of benefit weeks to 26 weeks. The first five days to qualify for STD are covered by personal days( up to 2 years of service you get a total of 6 personal days and for more than 2 years of service you get a total of 8 personal days), vacation or unpaid time at the employees option. Long Term Disability (LTD) will begin if approved at the end of the employees STD benefits.
10. Employees who have exhausted their 26 weeks of STD may apply for a Leave of Absence not to exceed 6 months. If a job vacancy exists, in their classification, employees may return with Company approval with seniority and applicable benefits based on the seniority held prior to the leave of absence.
11. Employees will have a one-time opportunity during the life of the contract to reset the 26 weeks provided they return to work for 13 weeks. Any other resets with be done after the employee works 182 days.
12. Pension bands are increased based upon the annual wage increases.
13. Letter of Agreement on the incentive program and there will be no discipline attached to any employee who elects not to participate in the incentive program.
We will mail you a complete bargaining report with a mailed ballot for ratification. We will notify you of the date, time and location of the contract explanation meeting once it has been finalized.
