Local 2201 Picketed Against Verizon's "Vanishing Jobs"
We targeted our two locations that have contractors for the practice
picketing. We had our Executive Board and Steward's Army trainees go to
either our Brittons Hill location which has contractor EA's or our Nansemond
Street location which has contractors working in the repair department. We
had our pickets going from 7am to 9am. We had very good turn outs with an
average of about 20 people walking at a time at each location. We
distributed the flyers at all of our locations, the total number distributed
was approximately 2,200. They were handed out to the members and put in
break rooms, etc.
