DirecTV

Working with Locals 3109 (Pensacola, FL), Local 3114 (Panama City, FL), Local 3404 (Covington, LA), Local 3410 (New Orleans, LA), and Local 3611 (Raleigh, NC), a majority of DirecTV workers in those three states – a unit of 274 technicians, warehouse workers, and administrative assistants – now have CWA representation.

Some 133 DirecTV workers in San Juan, Puerto Rico gained CWA representation, supported by CWA Local 3010. Organizer Robert Mateo, Local Officer Maltbelle Ortiz, Rolando Hernandez, and President Luis Benítez were instrumental in the success of the campaign.

Flight Attendants

A unit of 420 GoJet Flight Attendants has joined AFA-CWA. In a union representation election this week, the National Mediation Board (NMB) announced that 83 percent of the voting Flight Attendants voted for AFA-CWA representation.

Air Transport International (ATI) Flight Attendants voted to join AFA-CWA by a two-thirds margin. In a union representation election, nearly two-thirds of the 36 voting Flight Attendants chose AFA-CWA representation.

Denver, Colorado

More than half of the AT&T Global Customer Service employees in Denver (former LNS) indicated that they wanted CWA representation, with 49 workers joining CWA with the support of Local 7750 and President Chris Roth, who led the effort.
